Mid-Summer Update!

What a busy summer it has been! Due to many requests we have added instructors and additional openings for our Parent & Child, Preschool and Youth Swim Lessons. Sessions for all age groups will begin next week and we are so excited to have many popular evening offerings to accomodate your busy summer schedule! Give us a call - there is still time to sign up!

Our new summer Splash Zone schedule has been a big hit! Groups from area day camps, churches and preschools have been cooling off on those hot summer days and the evening swim time is a great way to end a summer day with your family.

Our long course schedule will still be available for a few weeks - it's your opportunity to swim a 50 Meter course, so don't let it pass you by!

Hope to see everyone at the pool!

Safe Summer Fun!

Summer is a wonderful season to spend time with friends and family out at the beach, at a backyard pool, or visiting the Aquatic Center on a rainy day! Swimming, boating and floating can provide hours of fun and relaxation for the whole family, but it’s important to remember a few water safety tips to keep everyone safe in and around the water all summer long. Here are a few of our favorite reminders from the American Red Cross.

  • Swim in designated areas supervised by lifeguards.

  • Always swim with a buddy; do not allow anyone to swim alone. Even at a public pool or a lifeguarded beach, use the buddy system!

  • Ensure that everyone in the family learns to swim well. Enroll in age-appropriate Red Cross water orientation and Learn-to-Swim courses.

  • Never leave a young child unattended near water and do not trust a child’s life to another child; teach children to always ask permission to go near water.

  • Have young children or inexperienced swimmers wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets around water, but do not rely on life jackets alone.

  • If you go boating, wear a life jacket! Most boating fatalities occur from drowning.

  • Avoid alcohol use. Alcohol impairs judgment, balance and coordination; affects swimming and diving skills; and reduces the body’s ability to stay warm.
