FREE WATER SAFTEY DAY AT HOLLAND AQUATIC CENTER


Water safety day will include summer safety info and plenty of family fun!

Holland, MI - May 14, 2012 - The Holland Aquatic Center will be holding their second annual Water Safety Day on Saturday, May 19. Doors open for this special event at 12:00 p.m. and those arriving between Noon and 1:00 p.m. will be admitted FREE! Water safety activities, CPR demos and life jacket fittings will be some of the activities provided in preparation for the 2012 summer swim season. Water Safety Day participants are invited to stay for open swim, including the Splash Zone indoor water park area until 5 p.m.

Aquatic Center Director, Lisa Phillips says the Water Safety Day is being provided to the community to “enforce water safety skills for children and parents to help reduce the number of drownings in West Michigan.”

The event will feature special guest, Maranda from WOOD TV8 and WOTV 4 as well as the members of the Ottawa County Sheriff Dive Team, American Red Cross and Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project. This event is FREE to everyone attending from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - regular facility fees apply to those arriving after 1:00 p.m. for the open swim time.
